My 1985 Mustang GT - Caster-Camber Plates

In the spring of 2007 I added steel UPR Caster-Camber Plates.  I had them on the car for about one month and one track day before they bent.

In fairness to UPR, I believe that they bent from me hitting the bump-stops on the front struts.  UPR was helpful and they sent me replacement  parts.  Unfortunately, the replacement parts were for an ‘89-’93 Mustang so I had to send them back and wait a few extra days for the correct parts.  (Ford changed the mounting holes slightly in 1989, so Fox Body C-C plates are specific for 1979-1988 and 1989-1993.)

The delay gave me a few extra days to think about a solution to the problem.  I decided to weld vertical fins onto the new plates to increase their strength.

I am happy to report that I have had no failures with my modified C-C plates after 2 years of abuse.
